Create Booklet

In the “Arrange” category, you will find the “Booklet” Action, which you can use to turn a multi-page file into a booklet.

You can specify the set size and the horizontal/vertical offset, as well as specifying whether cut marks should be added to each resulting page.

The input document consists of a number of individual pages. In this example, we will use the pdfToolbox manual.

Goodday , we are running Toolbox6 & would like to find out how to set creep compensation when imposing a booklet. Thank you.

Hello Ian,
It is not possible to set the shingling offset within the "Booklet" action. But when using the "Impose" functionality, an individual offset can be defined in custom runlist-config-files.
Please contact the us ( with the details for the needed offset and we will be glad to provide you a adjusted runlist.

Hi, We are using Callas server v 11 and we need saddle stitch on side for portrait orientation but stitch on top for landscape. Is it possible with Callas?

Author callas software

Hi Arunavea,
In Desktop and Standalone, you can achieve this by first rotating the page by 90 degrees using the action "Rotate" in the "Pages" group.
In the Server, you will have to create either a Processplan (1st step based on the Fixup "Rotate pages", then the saved "Booklet" action as the second step) or you use 2 jobs (first for rotation, the second for creating the booklet).

But in most cases, some advanced positioning is needed when imposing landscape brochures, as the resulting format doesn't match the standard paper formats - our support will be happy to help you then.

Hi Marc,
Referring to my last question here - We are using CLI for calls PDFtoolbox. How can we achieve the page rotation by 90 deg using CLI. Please also share if there is any 'Help' link available for using the page rotation using CLI.
Thank you,

Author callas software

Hi Arunava,
Most corrections have to be done by "Fixups", which can be created in the pdfToolbox Desktop (or Plug-in). You'll find an extensive number of pre-configured Fixup there.
To use them on the CLI, you will have to export these Profiles/Fixups/Checks from pdfToolbox Desktop.
We'll extend the documentation with an article explaining this a bit more. However, when looking into the "Fixup" tools, you'll already find a number of "Rotate" Fixups which you can export.
For further assistance on this issue, you can also write to the support team by eMail.

Best regards, Marc
