Using pdfToolbox in Enfocus Switch
Enfocus Switch is capable of using pdfToolbox CLI to automate all functionality offered by pdfToolbox. In order to do so, it uses configurators or Switch apps, depending on the version of Switch you are running.
You need to have pdfToolbox CLI installed on the same server as Enfocus Switch in order to use the configurators or Switch apps for pdfToolbox. You do not need to start pdfToolbox CLI in any way: this is done by Enfocus Switch when needed.
Configurators
If your version of Switch still supports configurators, you will see the pdfToolbox configurators in Enfocus Switch as soon as you launch it. You can also search for "pdfToolbox" in the "Flow elements" pane to filter and see only the pdfToolbox configurators.
Switch apps
If your version of Switch doesn't support configurators, you need to add the pdfToolbox apps from the Enfocus Switch App Store. In the App Store, search for "pdfToolbox" to find all pdfToolbox apps. The apps published by callas software are:
- callas pdfToolbox Actions
- callas pdfToolbox Compare
- callas pdfToolbox Profiles
- callas pdfToolbox ColorConvert
- callas pdfToolbox Imposition
You should no longer use the "Imposition" or "ColorConvert" apps as they have been deprecated. Read the article on deprecated apps to know how to use their functionality in the three core apps. To work with the other apps, click on each app in turn and use the "Get it now" button to install it on your Switch server. Once you've gone through that step, restart Switch and/or click the refresh button on the "Flow elements" pane. You can now start using the apps in your Enfocus Switch flows.
